Deltacolor has developed a specific range of EVA-based masterbatches forthe coloration of HFFR compounds on the cable industry. This masterbatch range includes a special pigment selection which guarantee an optimal dilution and coloration of the HFFR
This masterbatch range includes a special pigments selection which guarantees an optimal dilution and coloration of the HFFR compounds, which usually have a high percentage of flame retardant filler.
Technical Characteristics
- Colour: matched to RAL 840HR with a typical flame retardant compound chosen as base. The maximum deviation from our standard colours is
E 1.5. Deltacolor can develop any special colour by customer request, the minimum order being 25 kg.
- Dose: typically from 1.0% to 3.0%, depending on the HFFR base used.
- Light fastness: the light resistance test was conducted according to DIN 54003 blue scale (1 = very low : 8 = very high). Deltacolor has developed masterbatches incorporating UV Absorbers on the formulation, to protect the mechanical characteristics of the base polymer. These masterbatches contain "UV" on the product name and their dose is individually adjusted.
- Heat resistance: all the pigments used in the production of Deltacolor masterbatches have been selected to be process-temperature resistant. On the technical data sheet this parameter is shown for every masterbatch.
- Volumetric Resistivity: all DELTAPLAST-EV masterbatches for the cable industry have been developed to minimise the change on the dielectric properties of the HFFR compound. This value is higher than 10E+113 ohm/cm, when 1% masterbatch is dosed into a 13 ohm/cm HFFR base compound.
- Packaging: PE sacks with 25 kg palletised to 1.000 kg net weight. Special packing configurations are available under request.
